Accommodation in Padstow

We do offer very limited accommodation with the job role however if those in need exceed our room allocation then…..Cornwall is a place where locals look after each other, and we are constantly in the loop about available properties and rooms. Otherwise, just have a look online, we are more than happy to help you with your house hunt. If you’re relocating to Cornwall we may be able to provide accommodation for one week subject to availability – please just ask for further info.

Waiting Staff

£9.50 + tips (around £2.50+ ph)
If you have a passion for food, a bubbly personality and a happy-go-lucky outlook on life, you’ll fit in perfectly as a member of our front of house team. Previous experience isn’t essential, just a strong work ethic and plenty of drive, coupled with the friendly customer service that Mussel Box are renowned for. Hours can be extremely flexible, ranging from just one night a week to full time employment. We also offer various training schemes to aid the continual development of our staff in the hospitality sector. This, coupled with our competitive rate of pay, means we offer a fun and rewarding work environment for our waiting staff.

Kitchen Assistants

£9.5 + tips (around £2.50 ph)

Are you organised, energetic and like working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment? As a kitchen assistant you will aid the chefs on a day-to-day basis in all areas of the kitchen including food preparation and washing dishes. Previous experience isn’t necessary, just a great work ethic and enthusiastic attitude. For the right candidate with significant dedication this role has the possibility to develop into a role with cooking responsibility and further down the line becoming a chef.

Sous Chef  – 27k plus tips (around 5k)

Being a Chef at Mussel Box requires excellent punctuality, organisation and above all a charismatic approach. This is a very busy kitchen so you will need an organised eye for detail and a passion for the trade. The ideal candidate will be able to work calmly and accurately under pressure whilst assisting the head chef in our kitchen and that of our satellite prep-kitchen. If you are an organised and competent Chef with the ability to manage of all areas of the kitchen in the absence of the head chef, and can accurately manage portion control and stock levels, as well as nurture a team then this could be the position for you!

Your general working week will consist of 2 splits (12hrs), one straight (10hrs), one early (7hrs) and one late (7hrs) giving around 45-50 hours. We try and give lates after rest days and earlies before rest days giving a good work life balance.  Our head chef can also be very flexible and alter shifts to fit your circumstances.
